  • Overview

Extremely clear waters and lots of marine life is what you’ll see in underwater Corfu.
Scuba diving is a popular activity on the island – although you need to have a proper authorization and/or accompanied by a recognized diving instructors – and only in designated areas. This is due to the abundance of antiquities hidden in the waters around the island.

The island has quite an interesting selection of diving sites, but the most well known is Nissaki Bay which is home to over 30 different species of fish and plant, since up until recently, it was the only place in the island where one could dive legally. Still, the the blue eye in paleokastritsa and the crystal fish alley in Kassiopi Bay are very popular. Scuba diving and snorkeling enthusiasts planning to visit Corfu this year should have a visit to paleokastritsa bay, a recommended dive site on the island.
